The lo-noise AK-965 utilizes U-shape heatpipes technology for rapid and even heat transfer. A copper base is used for maximum heat absorption; three precision embedded copper heatpipes ensure hi-speed heat transfer and 45 aluminum fine fins for ultimate heat dissipation. INTEL approved power management (PWM) lo-noise 92mm round frame fan provides efficient and quiet cooling. Intel reference push-pin retention is used for safe and easy attachment. The specific fan positioning enhances the VRM cooling (VRM - CPU Voltage Regulator Modules located on the motherboard). Thermal compound is pre-applied.
The AK-965 can be assembled horizontally or vertically as the heatpipes work independently of installation direction.

2008-08-13Reviewer: dean smithBought this to overclock my Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600.On stock fan had idle temps of 41c and load of 53c.When i installed this it dropped to 29c idle and 38c under load.Overclocked to 3.0Ghz.Got 32c idle and 41c under load.I havent checked temps at higher overclocked rate.Easy enough to install.Dont buy thermal glue with this as its pre-applied.Also the fan RPM increases as temps rise.Way better than stock fan.For that price its a bargain and would highly recommend.

2007-12-27Reviewer: Noel NevinNice air cooler, either a rebadge or close imitation of the more expensive artic pro. I have a 2160 at 3Ghz from 1.8 and idles at 34c, not bad considering the pentium dual cores run hotter then the regular core 2 chips.
Very happy with it for the price.

2007-11-06Reviewer: Phillip Cullinaneeasy to install, good sounding click noice when fitting it. no instructions for first timers, but a search on google would sort that, pre applied thermal compond, core2duo 2.67 idle @ 27 load @ 35, fans on slient. only running in the last few days, temp's will drop over time.
